This piece was born from my deep connection with the sea and what it represents for me. I have always felt that the ocean’s depth mirrors the depth of our emotions. On the surface, everything is movement, change, sometimes even stormy, but when you dive deep and reach the bottom, you find silence, calmness—a space where everything becomes still.

Visually, I worked with an intense, textured blue to convey the sensation of immensity and mystery. The small white splashes evoke the foam of the waves or the light filtering through the depths, while the touches of red are traces of life—emotions subtly emerging among the currents.

More than a painting, Mar is an invitation to pause, to dive into introspection, and to connect with that peace we only find when we dare to go beyond the surface. It is a perfect piece for those who seek in art not just an image, but a sensory and emotional experience that accompanies them in their space.

This artwork was created from research on glial cells and their role in the human brain as connectors and organizers.

For me, the inner sensation of these connections could be identified with an image similar to the resulting painting. In fact, let me tell you that this piece, where I work with a base technique in oil, fused with beach sand and acrylics, is the outcome of a study on how our brain's synapses function. I imagine that the internal movement is filled with color and emptiness, an endless flow where forms emerge and reveal themselves like phrases, ideas, or visions... yet they organize themselves out of a chaos of shapes and colors until reaching a focus that gives them meaning.

The painting is done on canvas and has texture and depth—you can feel the beach sand from the Catalan coast under your fingers if you touch it, along with the branches carried by the sea to the shore. Personally, I have this artwork displayed in my studio, and I love how it transforms the space into something warm and welcoming.

REVERIE

"REVERIE" – Painting Sound, Sculpting the Soul

This piece is not just a painting; it is a sensory threshold into another form of perception. REVERIE was born from my research into creative processes linked to cognitive synesthesia, an exploration that was recognized with the Grant for Creation, Innovation, and Research in the Field of Thought and Music in 2021, awarded by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Inspired by the delicate and mysterious piece of the same name composed by Claude Debussy in 1890, this painting is a visual transcription of the sound universe he created. I analyzed the work through its tonal and modal structure, explored its form and rhythm, and translated it into the language of color and texture using mixed media: acrylic and sand on canvas.

The colors were not chosen at random; each stroke corresponds to a note, to an internal resonance, to an impulse that vibrates beyond hearing.
